March Big Savvy Sketch / Scrap the Girls March challenge

OK, so I am on a roll today! I have had such a great day at my craft desk! Em was at her little friend's house.. Gus was finishing off our brand new letterbox, cleaning the pool & mowing the lawn.. And Me? Well (aside from the washing & cooking..lol) I got to spend some "Me" time at my craft desk. I have been enjoying getting inspiration from some awesome challenge blogs. This one is from the www.scrapbooksavvy.com.au March Big Sketch Challenge. http://www.scrapbooksavvy.com.au/blog/?p=1807 I had a pic of Em & her little Friend Scarlett I wanted to scrap, and this sketch was just perfect! I figured, while I am at it, I may as well kill 2 birds with one stone right? So... I also used the criteria from the "Scrap the Girls" March challenge of using a heart &/or doily (which, lets face it would probably have happened anyhow!). I enjoyed using the SU! Inks and trim, as well as the 'gorgeous grunge' stamp set. It's so cool! A bit of "Knee highs & bow ties", Washi, Thickers & Kaiser flower ribbon.. as well as some buttons & MME enamel dots. It was so much fun & really quick to put together! Here is what I came up with:

some cards

Here are some cute cards I made today for someone special! I have been you tubing.. (best inspiration ever!) and came across Kristina Werner. I got the idea for the rainbow card from her. I think it turned out ok? Not too bad for a first go :)

Bella is One

I thought I would share a LO I did a little while ago. It is of a fantastic day we had at the Manly Dam for our gorgeous Niece Bella's first birthday. I wanted this to be very girly & vintage.. my favourite style to scrap. And what a beautiful subject!

Kraft it up - March challenge

THIS MONTHS CHALLENGE IS TO CREATE A LAYOUT BASED AROUND A "LIST", WHETHER IT IS A CHRISTMAS LIST, GROCERY LIST, BUCKET LIST, CHORES OR A WEEKLY PLANNING LIST THAT IS UP TO YOU... I decided to use my home & what was happening right now as inspiration. My gorgeous girl Emily bought me a magnetic shopping list from the school for Mother's day, and we all use it make sure we don't miss anything when we get around to doing the shopping. Emily has been busy writing some funny stuff on there, like "food" and "Breakfast".. I think she means cereal..lol So here is what I came up with. I clear embossed & then sprayed glimmer mist over a stencil for the background, and then just went to work layering.. I like the vintage feel of this one!

KIU Feb 2014 Challenge

So I spent some time at the craft desk today & created a LO for the Kraft it Up challenge blog. This month your challenge is to create a layout using a different style than you normally create, for example if you are a textured/layerd scrapper try clean and simple... FEBRUARY CHALLENGE CREATE A LAYOUT ABOUT SOMETHING YOU "LOVE" So I thought I would try a arty style that was clean & minimalist. Totally unlike what I normally do! It felt very much out of my comfort zone, but I really enjoyed just playing & going with the flow.. I decoupaged some torn pieces of paper on, which I them applied a coat of Gesso over. I flicked on some candy apple red glimmer mist, then sprayed over some wheatfields glimmer mist to blend it in a little. I distressed the small (much smaller than normal!) pic and added a very few embellies. It was very difficult to stop myself from continuing on! Here is what I came up with.
I added a little black cotton thread & a wood veneer loveheart (to go with the theme "something you love")
Hope you like it!
